Plans for 203 homes off Adlington Road to be discussed by the Town Council Planning Committee on 27 January    January 16, 2014

A planning application has now been submitted to Cheshire East Council for the building of 203 homes off Adlington Road. Site map

Wilmslow Town Council's Planning Committee as an official consultee in the planning process will meet at the Oakenclough Centre, Colshaw Drive at 7.30pm Monday 27 January to discuss its recommendation to Cheshire East Council with regard to this and other recent planning applications in Wilmslow. The meeting will be held in public and there will be a period set aside during the meeting for the public to address the Planning Committee

The application made by P.E Jones Contractors Ltd concerns an area of green space that was allocated as being 'safeguarded' for development in the last Macclesfield Local Plan. The site has been discussed at length in the construction of the Cheshire East Local Plan which is still in the process of being finalised. The site off Adlington Road is not Greenbelt land but has been strongly defended by the Town Council and local resident groups. The site is allocated by Cheshire East Council as being part of their 5 year supply of housing land however the Town Council has consistently lobbied for the land to remain undeveloped until at least 2025 on the basis that brownfield sites exist and that these should be prioritised.

The decision as the whether to grant permission will be made by the planning authority which is Cheshire East Council and all comments of the public should be directed to them. The Town Council's Planning Committee will also consider the application at its next meeting in order to make a recommendation to the planning authority.

Details of the application can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council Planning website by clicking here
