Local Plan Consultation Starts 15 January 2013    January 15, 2013

15 Jan 2013 - 26 Feb 2013

Cheshire East Council, as part of their process to adopt a new Local Plan, are consulting on their Development Strategy and Policy.

The Development Strategy and Policy Document presented for consultation can be seen by clicking on the link below. This is a lengthy document and in recognition of this a summary document has been produced and can be accessed by clicking on the link below.

The development highlights of the document relating to Wilmslow involve the building of circa 225 houses off Adlington Road phased for 2015-2020, the building of 75 homes behind Royal London phased for 2015-2020 and the declassification of the green space opposite Royal London from Green Belt (catagorised as 'safeguarded land for future development). In addition the document proposes the use of land behind Royal London for employment use.

The main differences between the CEC document and the Wilmslow Town Strategy (which came out of the Wilmslow Vision consultation) are the proposal to develop the Adlington Road site from 2015 (Town Strategy suggested no earlier than 2025), the use of green belt land behind Royal London for the homes and employment (Town Strategy suggested employment use only) and the safeguarding for development of the site opposite Royal London (Town Strategy indicated that this should be retained as part of the green belt)
